The World of Ostara Dawn
The Trinity Academy, the world’s hub of magical discovery, research, and ethics, has trained witches for generations. For reasons unknown, a powerful mage named Taron wishes to overthrow the powers that be to be supreme ruler, placing the world on the brink of a devastating war.
While exploring themes like duty, rebellion, self-sabotage and unity, the features of the character will impact gameplay. While choices matter in this game, they do not deviate from a set narrative path (there is no “good” or “bad” ending). Instead, the player’s choices through gameplay affect the difficulty in which each battle progresses. As an example:
Ziya is plagued with self-doubt, scared of her powers, and unable to face her past. How Ziya uses her powers and connections can affect the player in two ways.
Her fear of using her magic hinders both her control and her skill. A meter that determines will generate mana as each battle goes on and at fullness will allow them to use a powerful move that can end fights quickly.
If the player holds on to this ultimate move too long, it will start to burst out of Ziya causing damage both to her and her companions.
If the player utilizes the move before it overflows, it can be focused and maintained. As Ziya progresses in skill (player level) she will have more time to keep the generated mana under control until eventually, it is not an issue for her anymore.
