About the Author
I grew up in the Bay Area, in a city with a charming small-town atmosphere but close enough to city life that I was exposed to the richness of a widely diverse community.
From an early age I was deeply invested in the art of storytelling, loving to read and absorb information voraciously. This love of stories led me to theater, where I eagerly fell in love with the likes of Shakespeare all while nursing love of the classics like Jane Austen and young adult writers like John Green in my spare time.
As time grew on I began understanding the beauty of writing for film and television, enraptured by shows like The West Wing and being enamored with movies of pure fun and magic like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. My eclectic tastes led me to so many genres of writing, storytelling and avenues of information.
If my love of everything story based in traditional media was not enough, I was soon enraptured by the bonding experience of playing video games with my dad. For hours we would explore the lore of fantastical worlds and beat big bad evil guys together in front of a screen. To this day, video games remain one of my favorite ways to experience a story, and I am always fascinated with a format where an audience’s choices change the outcome of a narrative.
This is where my passion for writing began. I found the process of transforming an imaginative vision into written word addicting, spending countless sleepless nights writing stories, exploring personal interests and engaging in communities where writers lobbed story excerpts and information back and forth.
In college, I nurtured my love for the arts by majoring in English Literature and minoring in Film/Electronic Arts at California State University, Long Beach. Writing academic papers was, much to the annoyance of my classmates, actually very fun for me. I looked forward to the research and the engagement in academic writing as well as pushing myself from my more common stylistic writing methods to a purely informative and clean cut way to keep a subject intriguing and understandable.
To this day, I write for fun, I write for business and I read as much as I can. I am a firm believer that despite an increasingly video based world of entertainment and sharing information, below the surface is the continuous work of writers, researchers and note takers allowing what we watch and play to come to life. It is my passion and calling to contribute to that, and my desire to understand and perfect every method and style of writing drives me in any project that comes my way.
